Coating Thickness Knife Tester NOVOTEST TPN-2808

Coating Thickness Knife Tester NOVOTEST TPN-2808 (Paint Inspection Gauge) is designed to measure the thickness of both single and multiple layer coatings on any grounds, both metallic and non-metallic. The operation principle is based on the local cut (notch) of the coating at the tested place of object with following thickness measurement of this coating. The thickness of coating is determined by the width of notch, it is possible because of the special form of cutter of the instrument. The measurement is performed by any portable measuring microscope with a suitable measuring range and discreteness.

 

Coating Thickness Knife Tester NOVOTEST TPN-2808 (Paint Inspection Gauge) complies with  ISO 2808, ASTM B 4138, DIN EN 1071-2.

NOVOTEST ED-3D Pinhole Detector was designed for rapid non-destructive testing of the continuity of coating (e.g. porosity of film) with thickness up to 500mkm according to ASTM G62-A.

Pulse Holiday Detector NOVOTEST SPARK-1

Pulse Holiday Detector NOVOTEST SPARK-1 designed to detect pits, flaws, and holes in different non-metallic insulation coatings (such as polymers, epoxy, bitumen, etc.) and is mostly used for oil and gas metal pipelines and other objects. The device can be used while the pipeline construction, operation or service. Tested coating thickness is up to 12 mm. Such tests are needed to evaluate the oil and gas pipelines corrosion protection reliability.

Digital Surface Profile Gauge NOVOTEST SP-1 is designed for profile measuring on either flat or curved surfaces. Also it can be used for measurements of surface roughness (Rz), after abrasive blasting pre-painting work.

Film Applicator NOVOTEST AU-823

Film applicator AU-823 is designed for applying layers of paint and other materials of required thickness of the layer during the complex tests according to ASTM D 823-E.

User can set the height of the gap by micrometer heads at the range of 10-6000 µm. The height of the gap should provide the necessary thickness of the layer of paint film. The applicator is to be placed on the edge of the test plate, than pour necessary amount of tested material  in front of the gap and move the applicator along the plate at constant speed of 5-10 cm/s, dispensing  continuous layer of the tested material on the plate
